The cold and wet weather did not stop the community from honouring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and thanking those who have taken part in wars and conflicts in the past and present.

Hundreds of guests attended the service at The Memorial in Telford Town Park on Sunday, 12th November. The service was led by Rev’d Matt Beer, Telford Minster following a short parade with KSLI and Light Infantry, West Mercia Police Cadets and 1st Randlay Scouts. The Chairman of Hollinswood & Randlay Parish Council led the tributes and representatives, including Lucy Allan MP, KSLI, Rotary Club of Telford, Armed Forces, Emergency Services, 1st Randlay Scouts, Hollinswood & Randlay Primary Schools and Thomas Telford, Telford Hornets, local community groups, churches, organisations and businesses laid wreaths following a two minutes’ silence at 11am during which the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers Standard Bearers lowered their standards with respect.

Councillor Sheenagh Unwin said “This is the most important occasion in our Parish Council calendar and it is a pleasure to welcome so many people to The Memorial for this very special occasion”. Guests were invited to Telford Minster for light refreshments and a much-needed warm drink after the service.
