Open message to all residents of our Parish.
As a Parish along with the Councillors, we have been thinking about what Hollinswood and Randlay could look like in 2035 We would appreciate your views as to what you would like to see happen over the next 10 years or so, in both how your lives will be then along with how our surroundings / locality can be improved to achieve those goals, so we can work on ideas to get benefit all.
Along with other Parish’s this is being called “post cards from the future”, where you put a wish list together and at the same time suggest ways to get there and what you believe will hinder this being achieved.
Try to be as positive in the responses, it is appreciated both political and monetary issues will intervene, but we ask that you look passed those wider external factors and constraints and consider the way(s) you believe positive & realistic changes could be achieved with the existing knowledge / materials & equipment – this does mean that a wish list hoverboards and time travel cannot be suggested!
An example of this could be;
Holding a monthly local market; where it would be possible to buy locally produced foods / local cottage industries and maybe a clothes swap facility / repair café for household items. It could be that one of the Council Buildings is used to hold the sale or in and around the local centres. It could be that by doing this, local producers of goods can sell locally meaning less travel to shops?
Other areas to consider could be;
Transport
Energy (social networks / community hubs)
Consumption of consumer goods
Household energy saving methods
Currently there are not right or wrong ideas, all suggestions are welcome – The Parish are really keen to get ideas of what residents want and from that look to work together to take forward towards a positive 2035 and onwards.
Please send ideas / thoughts to enquiries@harpc.org.uk
